Introduction
Nepalese garment exports, for the past few years, have successfully
been exporting their productrs mainly to the U. S. A. Present supply
consists of a varieties of men`s, women`s and children wear made of
cotton and other fabrics most of which are fashion and casual items.
Nepalese hand-made cotton garments are very papular.
Varieties
Garments from Nepal comprises of Jackets, Shirts, Pants, Half-Pants,
Vests, Trousers, Jumpsuits for Gents, Ladies & Children. Women`s
skirts, Blouses and Children wear`s design and sizes are reprodauced
exactly and various designs from Nepalese manufacturers are avilable.
Raw
material
Fabrics are the orginal rawmaterials which are imported from India,
Taiwan, South Korea and Hongkong. Nepalese hand-loom cotton are very
famous in foreign country. To facilitate fabric import, foreign currency
and bonded warehouses facility is provided by the government.
Production
There are about 200 units engaged in manufacturing garments for export.
Almost all of them are concentrated in Kathmandu valley. Buyers need
not wait long for execution of their orders.
Export
There are more than 90% of the garments exported to the United States.
And the rest divided amoung Canada, Europien & Scandinevian countries.
Presently garment is the major exportable items of Nepal.
